A new participation model for cattle ownership and value creation.
NamNed gives Dutch farmers a practical way to participate in cattle production through a structured purchase model. Farmers remain in control through a dedicated digital platform, where they can purchase available calves directly into the NamNed system. Through this app, farmers have continuous visibility of their animals, including grazing location, weight progression, and overall health status. All calves are insured, providing a capital protection layer with a money-back guarantee in the event of mortality. While farmers retain ownership and visibility, NamNed manages the full operational side in Namibia and buys the animals back under a pre-defined framework.
This approach reduces pressure on land and CO₂-related restrictions, removes operational complexity, and delivers a transparent, controlled, and more predictable pathway to value for participating farmers.
Farmer model explained
Step 01Purchase
The farmer acquires cattle through the NamNed participation structure via the mobile application, at a predetermined entry point, typically when cattle are 8–10 months old.
Step 02Management
NamNed oversees grazing, monitoring, health management, and finishing on the farmer’s behalf
Step 03Tracking
The system is designed to support visibility into animal performance, location, and production status through a digital traceability approach.
Step 04Buy-back
Upon reaching the agreed specification, the cattle are bought back by NamNed under the programme structure at a pre‑sale agreed live‑weight price per kilogram, after which NamNed undertakes processing and route‑to‑market execution.
